St Peter’s Church serves the community of Llanbedr. Sunday worship alternates between St Mary’s Llanfair and St Peter’s Llanbedr.
This church regards itself as the ‘singing church’ It holds a weekly choir practise on Thursday at 6:00pm to which all are welcome. It currently uses ‘The Mass of New Wine’ setting at it’s Communion Services and usually sings the Psalm in responsorial form.
The Village of Llanbedr became part of the Community of the Cross of Nails when it was awarded the Cross of Nails in 2012, the Cross is stationed in the Huchenfeld Window of the church where the memorial to 4 local airmen killed in Germany by Hitler youth members is also placed. Now twinned with Huchenfeld the two places work together to support the village of Butembo in Tanzania, having built a church, a school and a Maternity Clinic and funding training of health care workers.
There is also a memorial window in the church where people are welcome to place flowers and a name card on the anniversary of the death of a loved one.
St Peter’s is open for visitors every day during daylight hours. The Church is slightly off the main road through Llanbedr but there is a notice board on the driveway.
